DESCRIPTION:Trail racing in October\, in the Tillamook Forest\, with friends… sign me up! The Elk-Kings Trail Races are going to challenge you no matter which distance you choose. The 50K sticks to the Wilson River trail\, but don’t be lulled by that\, it’s tough. The 25K goes up and over both Elk and Kings mountains in a scrambly way you’ll not soon forget. And there’s the Mountain Marathon that lets you experience those two mountain summits twice (8000′ of gain in 27.5 miles!).

DESCRIPTION:If you’re going to run 100 miles\, you might as well do it where it is beautiful and the support is as good as it gets\, and the buckle is awesome. The Mountain Lakes 100 starts and finishes at the Olallie Lake Resort. Racers run most of their miles on the Pacific Crest Trail between Mt. Jefferson and Mt. Hood.

DESCRIPTION:The NUT 50K & 17M race is on one of the prettiest trails you’ll find in Oregon. Oh\, it’s also kinda tough as it is technical and the course it a point-to-point uphill one. The trail lays alongside the North Umpqua River where you’ll pass waterfalls and have many moments of temptation to jump into the cool water. You finish at Lemolo Lake\, which is just north of Crater Lake National Park. This one is well-worth a long weekend to race\, rest\, and explore.

DESCRIPTION:Run up the mountain and then right back down. The Gnar Gnar race is just 6 miles\, but oof\, it’s not easy. There is almost 2\,000 feet of gain and loss in this race. You reach the top in 3.5 miles and the bottom in 2.5 miles. Lung-burner going up and quad-burner coming down. Gnarly!

DESCRIPTION:This is one of the toughest races you’ll run\, and you’ll be so happy you did it. The Volcanic 50+K circumnavigates Mt. St. Helens on super technical terrain with non-stop views of what’s left of her top as well as the neighboring Cascade mountains. The 25K gives you a good taste of the 50K\, but in half the distance. New for 2021\, this is a two-day event with the 50K on Saturday and the 25K on Sunday.

DESCRIPTION:A northwest classic\, the Mt Hood 50-miler and 50K gives racers a great experience of running on the Pacific Crest Trail. A highly supported and very fun event\, you will want to do this one again and again. The 50M is a lottery and the 50K is not but sells out very quickly. SUMMARY:RUN the PCT Virtual Race
DESCRIPTION:It’s back again this summer. Form a team or take on a section of the Pacific Crest Trail on your own. With this virtual race you’ll have a goal distance to complete between July 1 and September 30\, with all runs\, walk\, hikes anywhere counting (you do not need to actually run on the PCT). \n\nENTIRE – The entire Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is 2\,653 miles\, so probably a wee much for someone to do the whole thing solo. But you can get up to seven of your friends together to make a team and cover that distance together while apart. Breaking that distance down over 92 days is 28.8 miles a day.\nWASHINGTON – The Washington section of the PCT is 506 miles long\, so 5.5 miles a day. Doable for one person over three months\, but also fun for a team.\nOREGON – The Oregon portion of the PCT is 455 miles\, which is 4.9 miles per day. A great goal for you\, or still a great team option.\nCALIFORNIA – This state is long. The PCT covers 1\,692 miles in California. That’s 18.4 miles a day\, which is too much for one person to do every day for three months (right?)\, so this is a good team option.\n\nRegistration is open through August 31st so get your friends and family nearby or afar together to make a team and keep each other motivated and accountable this summer. \nRUN the PCT website
