This is the first of three free group runs we’re offering this winter, on trails that we’ve considered for a race. You can learn more about these runs in this post.
The Fort to Sea trail is a pretty cool route that starts at Fort Clatsop in Astoria and ends at Sunset Beach, on the beach. We’re going to do this as an out-and-back, starting and finishing at the Fort. That’s an 11.5-mile route. There’s a shorter 6-mile loop option too. You’ll start running in the forest, pass through farm land (hello cows) and pause on the sand of the Oregon coast before flipping the route back. Actually, it isn’t a complete flip as we’ll go back through the forest a different way. Afterwards we’ll go to Fort George Brewery & Public House to complete our Fort to Sea to Fort.
