Go Beyond Racing announces that the NUT 100K & 50K, a trail race on the scenic North Umpqua River Trail in Oregon, is moving to August 19, 2017.
The race was originally scheduled for June 10th, but due to damage to the trails from this winter’s storms, the date is changed to later in summer to allow the Forest Service more time to make the necessary repairs and remove downed trees.
“We didn’t want to cancel the race,” stated race director Renee Seker. “We felt that moving it out was the best option, allowing some who had already signed up a chance to still run, and maybe even giving others who couldn’t make the June date an opportunity to race on this beautiful course.”
The NUT 100K & 50K is a point-to-point trail race on the North Umpqua River Trail, 25-miles east of Roseburg, Oregon. The race is somewhat unique in that it is a technical, uphill course, with 11,000’ of gain for the 100K and 5,700’ for the 50K. This route follows along the beautiful, emerald-green North Umpqua River and is almost entirely on single-track trail.
Both race distances are UTMB qualifiers. The NUT 100K provides 5 points, and the 50K provides 3 points, toward every race of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®
